Ronald McDonald House - Indianapolis, IN
DSC has been a proud supporter of the Ronald McDonald House for the past 3 years providing breakfast to families the 1st Friday of each month and dinner once each quarter. Meals are served to parents and caregivers staying in the house while their children are receiving medical care at Riley Hospital. The Ronald McDonald House program provides a “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost. Many families travel far from home to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children. Often, it can be a long time to be away from home, or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having their mom and dad close by for love and support. The Pop Tab Drop is a major fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House and DSC participated in its 7th annual Pop Tab Drop on Monument Circle, Friday August 5, 2011 with collecting and donating 585,844 tabs this year. Funds received from the recycling of tabs or donations made by groups recycling their tabs in their local communities are a significant source of annual revenue, underwriting the approximate cost of operating three rooms for an entire year.
Outreach, Inc. - Indianapolis, IN
Outreach, Inc. is a ministry reaching out to homeless and at-risk young adults in Indianapolis. They provide street outreach, a drop-in center, holistic and social services, case management and emergency referral services. DSC's corporate headquarters has been involved with Outreach since 2006, hosting fundraising competitions to fill the charity's needs each year. "The Battle of the Soxes", "Penny Wars", and Canned Food Drive have often pitted the ladies of the office against the men, but regardless of the outcomes, the at-risk children and teens served by Outreach have benefitted greatly from the tremendous fundraising efforts by DSC employees and their families.

Miracle Ride to benefit Riley Children’s Hospital - Indianapolis, IN
The Miracle Ride to benefit Riley Children’s Hospital is one of the nation’s largest motorcycle fundraising events. Founded in 1994, the Miracle Ride Foundation, Inc. consists of a large group of volunteer motorcycle enthusiasts and Indiana business professionals with a passion for keeping children healthy. By directing the revenues raised by the Miracle Ride to Riley Hospital, participants in the event can be certain that their money is going to a local cause that assists all children with a wide range of illnesses and injuries. John Thomas, Jr. “JT”, a Network Specialist at DSC, has been involved with the Miracle Ride for over 9 years. JT’s involvement with Riley Hospital began over 30 years ago, when his brother Bobby was cared for at Riley for various congenital ailments including Down Syndrome and a hole in his heart. Although Bobby’s parents were told he would not survive past the age of 5, he is now 31 years old. The family continues to give back and has risen over $100,000 for Riley. JT even proposed to his wife, Rae, at the Miracle Ride in 2003, and the event has become a family event, with 3 generations of the Thomas family participating. DSC is proud to support JT and the Miracle Ride by encouraging employee participation and company sponsorship.
